Should never come with Terms and Conditions.
I don’t accept.
I agree. But unfortunately, anytime you put yourself out there in the name of your art, you will be loved, and judged, and disliked, all once. It doesn’t matter if it’s rock and roll - I’m a photographer, and I focus on artistic art. Some people love it, some people hate it, some people judge it. And let me tell you, it’s tough being critiqued and disliked, but I choose to focus on the people that support and love my work, and try not to let the hater bring me down. And while it’s not easy, and clearly you have the world attention, while my followers are fewer, it’s not easy living under a microscope, and the worst part for you, John Mayer, is people tend to focus on your personal life and your discrections instead of your brilliant craft. I can honestly say I miss your presence greatly. I was front row this year in at your Milwaukee show and your Tinley Park show, and I can honestly say the last two years were incredibly difficult for me with the death of both of my siblings, in quite a tragic manner. My blind brother was hit and killed by a car, lingering for 12 days before we took him off of life support and donated his organs. I was with him when he was taken off of life support. I watched him take his last breath. I watched him flatline, all in the presence of a team of doctors, one standing by to harvest his organs. It was an experience that has changed me, to the core. But your music, it helped me more than you will EVER know. So please, get through this rough patch, and PLEASE keep creating music - it helps more people than you can ever, ever imagine, and haters be damned. You will never be able to please everyone. So fuck it, screw the haters, focus on how many loyal, loving fans you have, that pay ungodly money for tickets for charity to be able to be FRONT ROW twice in one tour just for the magic of your stage presence, your music, and your amazing band. Your music brings life back to so many people. So please, please, do what you do as long as you love it. Take a break if you need to, but you have a gift, and I hope you never lose sight of that. Because a gift like that is rare, and priceless. Please come back to us, hopefully stronger than ever!
